When your child is ready to go onto intermediate or advanced lessons and is aged between 8-18.
CLUBS 3/4 hour riding 3/4 stable management
the clubs are designed to further their education by teaching them to turn correctly, control the horse, sit deep in the saddle so that they do not bounce on the horse back, independant hands so they don,t pull the horse in the mouth, canter, jump position.
When they are advanced enough we will further their dressage position and go onto jumping a grid and finally onto a course of jumps. We will teach them not only to ride but to understand what their doing and how it effects the horses way of going, learning to think for themselves and not just doing as the instuctor tells them with them not really understasnding it.
But it's not just the riding the clubs teaches them, we also teach stable management this includes looking after a horse (mucking out, feeding the horse and watering the horse) learn about the tack they put on the horse, grooming the horse, how to tack up, how to rug the horses up, cleaning tack etc. As they progress in the stable management lessons they start to learn how to lunge a horse, age a horse by it's teeth, how to treat cuts on the horse, the correct way to fitten a horse after being out of work, spot a lame horse etc.
When starting the clubs you will have a chance to take the Broadmoor Wood Stables riding and stable management awards. For further information click on awards.
