When starting the clubs you will have the opportunity to take part in the Broadmoor Wood Stables Awards. The awards go from bronze riding and stable management awards to diamond riding and stable management awards. The club lessons will train you to the next stage covering all the syllabus in both riding and stable management.
BRONZE RIDING AWARD
* Mount from the ground
* Hold the reins correctly
* Walk off the lead rein on both reins
* Rising trot off thelead rein on both reins
* Stop the horse when asked
* Change the rein in and trotwhen asked
* Stand the horse on the centre line and dismount correctly and safely
BRONZE STABLE MANAGEMENTAWARD
Name all the brushes in the grooming kit
Explain how each brush is used
Muck out a straw bed
Fill a haynet

Put a head collar on a horse/pony
SILVER RIDING AWARD
Mount the horse from the mounting block
Adjus the stirrups and trhe girth while on the horse with out help

Stop the horse when asked
20m circle at A,B or E and C
Rising trot over trotting poles
Rein back 3 steps
Complete a 3 loop serpentine in rising trot on the correct diagonal

Groom a horse correctly
Be able to put brushing boots on

Tack up the horse
Mount by a leg up

Teach a small group a stable managment lesson.
